Great page and a wonderful resource! I am Freight Superintendent for the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum in Industry, NY. We currently roster 5 cabooses including two ex-Conrail cars. They are fully restored Erie C254 and soon to be fully restored to PC livery PC 18526. We also roster three other cabooses. They are NYC 19877, BR&P (Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh) #280, and B&O C-2493. Our museum would also like to acquire a Lehigh Valley Northeastern type (CR N5G) caboose and a Pennsy caboose of just about any type although an N5C would be it! This would give us a caboose from every major railroad that served Rochester, NY. Again, great page and keep up the good work! Chris has provided some data on the classes of cars he has at the museum.

Attempting to model PRSL which gives a lot of cross-over to PRR and Reading. There is a N5c in Gorham, NH that has been repainted as a CN! Have not has chance to review my photos to get CR number. A porthole with CN maple leaf and CP Red paint! Bah! Like the page for the research value. Thanks. Stan set in photos of the CN N-5C and N-5 19333.

Owner of PRR N-5C 477822, contributor of detailed renumbering table. Will have an updated list your way in 2-3 weeks more info on retirements, scrapping etc. How has response been to info? A PRR cabin book is in the works will probably be out next year I hope. Will include PRR section of roster along with May 57 car assignments. Ken provided the data for the CR renumbering tables.

I live across road from CR Hillery Yard (former P&E) 21264 is assigned here on the only job we have left ,WSHI-32. 21241 was here until the bastards sold and abandoned the west end therefor abolishing WSHI-34. 21248 was also here until damaged by fire. P&E cabooses were numbered 21496 21497 21498 21499 J.W. Montgerard

20+ years with Amtrak. Former Baltimore division operator, dispatcher, assistant chief dispatcher, rules examiner and special duty division photographer. Was qualified at 8 towers and dispatched between New York Ave and Holmes, Penn to Harris, Chestnut Hill west Branch and Ivy Ridge Line. Currently at National Operations Center on NEC loco desk which controls dispatchment of Amtrak road power for NEC. Own PRR N8 cabin car 478173 which is in running condition. Have wrote stories for PC Railroader, Rails Northeast and The Keystone. Big fan of US&S stuff and former PRR Chesapeake Region.
