N-7B Class Data |
88 cars 21000-21099 ex PC/NYC 21000-21099. Bay window type, small centered bays, riveted sides, built by Despatch Shops in 1963. Examination of several photographs of N-7Bs and N-10s indicates that the carbodies of these classes are very similar if not identical. Both classes have a fixed sealed window on the right side of the end. A sliding window is positioned on the left when viewing the car from the side. This window was replaced with a sealed pane on some of the longer lived cars. On the smokejack side of the car there is a fixed sealed window just to the right of the bay. A small vent is positioned near the roof line on the left side of the bay on this side, there is one on each side of the bay on the other side. There are nine diagonal panel roof sections with a plain panel on each end. Ten panels make up the sides. |
