| This specialized car, ACMX 419, was used to transport hydro turbines produced by Allis-Chalmers at their York, PA plant. These photos were taken in 1980 in York. Allis-Chalmers was purchased by Voith and still manufactures turbines at the York facility. | |

The first photo shows the load being welded to the deck of
depressed center flat ATSF 90001. The car was photographed in York, PA in 1981.
The other two are closer shots of the end platforms.
I modified a Walthers car to more closely match this one but got stalled on the brake
equipment, just haven't been able to get it 'good enough'. I have some more photos of
this car, I'll add them after the Holidays. | |
